..And a hug around the neck

I've started a movement in my house to step away from convenience food, fast food, processed food and bring the food that goes into my family back to the beginning of where it should be prepared: in my kitchen. It isn't always easy- especially in this rush rush world- but I can control what goes into the food, which keeps my family healthier. I share my recipes with you, so that you, too, can benefit from what I've learned.

Anise Congestion Tea

When you have a cold, allergies or the flu and you can't get anything out, I suggest using a neti-pot to clear up nasal congestion, then do an herbal steam treatment and drink this tea. It's much kinder on your body than chemicals and stimulants. Please remember that this is my personal opinion and a recipe that I use at home, not actual medical advice.

Ingredients:
1 teaspoon anise seeds
1 cup boiling water

Make a tea by steeping 1 teaspoon of anise seeds in 1 cup of boiling water. Strain before drinking.
